discovering your life

Discovering what life truly means is a journey open to everyone, yet only a few choose to walk it. It is the purest form of adventure—one that asks us to search for meaning and redefine it in a way that belongs uniquely to us. But stepping onto this path is like crossing the Rubicon: the great questions of existence do not go away. They follow us quietly, offering no clear answers, sometimes not even at the end of our lives.

This search naturally brings struggle; spiritual, emotional, and intellectual. Nietzsche understood this well when he wrote that the path to growth leads through an inner hell. Honest self-reflection can expose truths we would rather ignore, yet facing them is essential if we hope to evolve. The world’s old spiritual traditions from Taoism to Christianity echo the same idea: growth requires courage, humility, and the willingness to confront ourselves.

No one escapes reality on this journey. Life’s difficulties remain, but suffering often becomes the gateway to transformation. The search for truth carries its own reward: the possibility of better understanding yourself, finding inner peace, and choosing the meaning you want your life to have. Meaning is not something we stumble upon, it is something we shape through awareness and intention.

For me, life is about creating value, not only for myself, but for the generations who come after us. To understand what we want to contribute, we must first look at what we have inherited. Some parts of our heritage are timeless and worth preserving; others have lost their purpose and must be released. This requires respect for the past, a clear sense of history, and a vision that reaches into the future. Only then can we pass on something truly meaningful.

Culture and tradition play a vital role here. They connect us to what came before and offer guidance for what might come next. Many of our values stem from ancient moral codes and philosophical schools that shaped civilization. Yet we must remain critical: which values are universal, and which belong only to the time and place that created them? Traditions can inspire progress, but they should not confine us. The world changes—and our path may require new ideas.

Nature, too, belongs at the center of this exploration. We may be the most intelligent species, but we are not the rulers of the Earth, we are part of it. Like every living being, we have limits. Respecting nature is not optional; it is a condition for survival. Restoring balance between humanity and the environment is among the greatest challenges of our time. It demands collective responsibility and a perspective that includes not only ourselves, but the generations who will inherit what we leave behind.

Ultimately, everything returns to a single question: what legacy do I want to leave? How can I, in my small corner of the world, contribute to making it a better place? Birth and death are certain, but everything between them depends on our choices. Each decision, large or small, becomes part of the story we leave behind. If we live with awareness, guided by respect, responsibility, and purpose, we enrich not only our own lives but the lives of others. In doing so, we give genuine meaning to our existence and build a bridge between past and future two worlds forever connected.
